EVER WANTED TO SHARE YOUR TRIPS WITH US? NOW YOU CAN!
The Amusement Parkrats presents our "1-2-3" step Trip Reports system, where visitors to our site can share their amusement/water park trips with us! Your report can be of a park trip taken just yesterday to a trip taken many years ago.
Please read the 3 steps below and then feel free to check out some tips below that on how to make your report unique.
HOW TO SEND IN YOUR REPORTS:
01. Download the editable TRIP REPORT DRAFT (Word document) and type out your report (no photos please). 02. Send it to our TRIP REPORTS DROPBOX and then one of our editors will review it, to ensure it is spam free. 03. If we approve your report, then we'll send you another Dropbox link to send in media from your trip, via email.
DISCLAIMERS: All reports must be free of spam/inappropriate content and must be a legitimate park trip. If approved, expect it to take 7-10 days to be published on our site, but it may take less time than that. For the Trip Reports Dropbox link above, please do not send any form of media (photos and/or video). If/when media is sent via the TR Media Dropbox, you give us the right to use them in any capacity, except for commercial use.
TIPS N' TRICKS
PROVIDED BY DAVE COLLINS
Honesty is the best policy! Be truthful when reporting on a park, and when rating the parks and coasters.
Keep it consistently family-friendly and park-friendly. Too often we see trip reports where vulgar language is used, and that goes against park regulations.
Constructive criticism is much more effective than destructive criticism.
THE AMUSEMENT PARKRATS RATING SYSTEM:
Be as objective as possible when rating the parks and coasters. A rubric is our effective objective measurement tool which reduces and minimizes personal and emotional biases. (see: RUBRIC SYSTEM)
For affordability and parking prices as a suggestion, choose a fair range of prices for each rating number based on an average price.
Average admission prices over visiting 70 parks (not including wristband or pay-per-ride parks): $58.65 Average parking prices over visiting 58 parks that charge parking: $16.25
For unique flat thrill rides, this is a suggestion to guide where to rate a park’s collection of unique flat thrill rides. “Unique” means that less than 10% of parks have that specific ride.
For coasters that do not have an obvious theming element, then rate the coaster using the storyline element based on the name of the coaster.
Bonus points for coasters can only be given if a “5” rating occurs for these three categories: Excitement, Elements, and Smoothness. Once that occurs, then all five categories are eligible for a rating of “6”.
